These paintings are memories of the most precious period of my life; my childhood. The world I saw was pure, innocent and untainted. Experiences of those years continue to affect me to this day. Especially the unforgettable summers I spent in my grandmother’s village. What I remember the most about those times are flower gardens and beautiful orchards, women in colorful dressing baking fresh bread, crowded bazaars and most of all, my grandmother herself. She lived to be a hundred years old and her love for all living things thought me how wonderful and beautiful life is. Each painting in itself tells the story of a real memory I had during those times. They all depict real events, real people in real places and of course, I myself am present in almost all of them. There are more memories that I plan to translate into paintings.
